Another common misconception is that my job is to recommend resorts or carriers. It’s not- and that goes for every true travel professional out there. To recommend something to a person I barely know would be, in my view, unprofessional.
First, I have zero control over the services themselves- I’m not a hotelier or an airline owner.
Second, trying to guess what a new client really wants is like asking a psychoanalyst to offer advice before the first session even starts.
What I actually do is make sure that the services you choose are booked under the best possible conditions. My role is to secure reliability, flexibility and support in case of irregularity, to foresee and warn about potential pitfalls, and to offer alternatives when they’ll genuinely enhance the experience or spare you a headache later on.
Not every bungalow at the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru sits on a perfect beach, not every beach villa at the One&Only Reethi Rah is created equal, and even Singapore Airlines flights can run late.
